Many times, when you remotely try to log on to a server, you get that message. What can you do to get access to the server so you can do your job?

Many administrators, when they have done their job on a server, just closes the remote windows via the X in the upper right corner. This is fast and the administrator is happy!

But the next administrator gets a problem, because all other admins are still logged in and are occupying remote sessions.

So what can you do to force the other "scumbags" off the server?

I guess we all have tried via run to type "mstsc -console" ? This will help in some cases. However, there is a stronger method. Using "mstsc /admin" will log you on as an admin session, you can then close the other, disconnected user sessions, log off and now you can log on as usual.

Remember alwayes to log off you remote session!
